Rod is a skilled Career Adviser, Coach and Facilitator with over 12 years experience, assisting people in transition,job seekers and those exploring and pursuing career change from most industry sectors. An innovative and creative Coach he provides powerful and valued expertise to support individuals and groups who are undergoing significant career and life changes, assisting them to achieve their objectives. His approach is to assist people to identify and clarify their professional assets, career goals and to then to work with them to articulate plans, strategies and actions to achieve their desires. Rod has a particular focus in coaching and supporting individuals as they face the challenges of finding new careers, interests and activities in the different stages of their professional lives.

In addition Rod facilitates conflict resolution and effective communication programs. He is passionate about health and well being and its importance in supporting people to better manage career and role changes, especially where the changes involve achieving a better life/ work balance. Having worked in a variety of organisations and volunteered as a telephone counselor in family violence (5 years) this has informed and developed his coaching expertise.

He is an MBTI practioner and facilitator having run group and individual Myers Briggs sessions since 2001. He has accreditation in Solutions Focused Coaching, and is a professional member of the Career Development Association of Australia (CDAA). As an active Iyengar Yoga Teacher in Training he believes and whole-heartedly in the importance of well-being, good health, self development and learning.

Background and Experience
David is a seasoned HR practitioner having spent several years in the corporate environment and now in the consulting field. David’s corporate experience was in the retail sector with Myer and Mc Ewans where he held line, HR and T&D roles at both State and National levels.  This provided him with a sound understanding of business issue, and the need to provide support to individuals impacted by structural change or requiring support in their development for future advancement.  He recognizes the need to identify and develop the ‘rough diamonds’ in an organization or to provide support to those whose careers are impacted by business initiatives such as restructures etc.

Having moved into a consulting career, David has focused his attention on management assessments, career development and transition and training & development where he has developed and conducted management development programs up to Advanced Diploma levels.  He has worked across numerous clients and industries including telco's, banks, government, electrical and retail organizations.

David is able to work with companies and individuals to assess current and future development needs and where necessary provide specific coaching or group training in order to improve the capabilities of individuals and the company as a whole.  Where required David can also provide professional support to those effected by change and required to be ‘exited’ from the organization.

David has developed and conducted numerous skills audits/training needs analysis and then provided the necessary training programs directly for organisations and through Victoria University.  Subject matter has included Problem Solving & Decision Making’ People Management and Strategic Planning.

As a past state president and national board member of AHRI, David has a wealth of experience and expertise within the HR and Training fields. Also as a co-owner of a specialist retail organization focusing on people with disabilities or requiring specialist care, David has a strong working knowledge of issues facing businesses daily, including;
